Immerse yourself in the pleasure of outdoor baking with our heavenly cinnamon rolls, freshly prepared in the FENNEK Hexagon fire bowl . These cinnamon rolls combine the classic comfort of sweet pastries with the cozy atmosphere of a campfire, perfect for a relaxed get-together in nature.
Ingredients:
- 500 g flour
- 250 ml milk, lukewarm
- 75 g sugar, plus 1 teaspoon for the yeast
- 42 g fresh yeast
- 75 g soft butter
- 1 egg
- 1 pinch of salt
- 100 g soft butter
- 150 g brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 100 g powdered sugar
- 2-3 tablespoons milk or lemon juice
Preparation:
1. Prepare the dough:
In a small bowl, mix the yeast with the lukewarm milk and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Leave the mixture to stand for 10 minutes until it begins to foam. In a large bowl, mix the flour, 75 g of sugar, salt, 75 g of soft butter and the egg until it forms a homogeneous mass. Add the activated yeast mixture and knead everything into a smooth dough. Leave the dough to rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until it has doubled in volume.
2. Prepare the filling:
In a medium bowl, mix together 100g softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and cardamom until a smooth paste forms.
3. Form snails:
Roll out the risen dough on a lightly floured surface into a large rectangle. Spread the cinnamon-sugar-butter mixture evenly over it. Roll up tightly from the long side and cut the roll into 2 cm thick slices.
4. Baking:
Heat up the Hexagon fire bowl and place a fireproof baking dish (e.g. Dutch oven) inside. Place the cinnamon rolls in the dish with enough space between them. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
5. Serve:
While the cinnamon rolls are still warm, cover them with the icing made from powdered sugar and milk or lemon juice. Serve warm and enjoy the sweet, spicy aroma that goes perfectly with a cup of coffee or tea.
