Aromatisches Chicken Schaschlik

Ingredients:

  • 500 g chicken breast fillet, cut into cubes
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into pieces
  • 1 green pepper, cut into pieces
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, cut into pieces
  • 1 zucchini, cut into pieces
  • 1 onion, cut into pieces
  • 200 g mushrooms, halved

For the marinade:

  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
  • 1 tsp paprika powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • A pinch of cayenne pepper

For the tzatziki:

  • 120 g quark 40% fat
  • 80 g crème fraîche
  • 100g Greek yogurt
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • deseed half a cucumber and cut into fine strips or grate
  • A little lemon juice
  • Olive oil as needed
  • salt and pepper

Preparation:

1. Prepare the marinade:

In a large bowl, combine olive oil, garlic, ginger, paprika, cumin, lemon juice, honey, soy sauce, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper. Add the chicken cubes and let them marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, ideally overnight.
Tip: The longer you let the fillets marinate, the more intense the flavor will be.

2. Prepare the grill:

After you your FENNEK 2.0 Once you've set up the grill, light the lighters and place the charcoal grate on top. Fill with the desired amount of charcoal or briquettes. Once the embers have reached the desired temperature, prepare your grill for the subsequent use of the skewers. You can use the grill skewer holder for this purpose.

3. Assemble the shashlik skewers:

Thread marinated chicken and vegetable pieces alternately onto the skewers . Make sure to leave some space between the pieces so the chicken can cook evenly.

4. Grilling:

Place the shish kebab skewers on the skewer holder . Grill for about 10-15 minutes, turning frequently, until the chicken is cooked through and the vegetables are tender.

5. Mix the tzatziki dip:

Finely chop the small onion. Remove the seeds from half the cucumber with a spoon, as the seeds absorb most of the liquid and would otherwise dilute the dip. Then chop into fine pieces or grate finely. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and press the garlic cloves through a garlic press. Finally, season to taste with salt, pepper, olive oil, and lemon juice.

6. Serve:

Remove the shashlik skewers from the grill and serve them hot. Top with fresh flatbread and the fresh tzatziki dip for a complete flavor experience.
